Well the ALDS has wrapped up and its on to the ALCS, which means the results are in, and I am 1 for 2 on predictions. The Astros beat out the Redsox, which I called, but the Yankees defeated the Indians in game 5 with a 5-2 victory.
The Yankees Indians series was a great one. The Yankees batting was awesome, their pitching was awesome, and all the same for the Indians. It was honestly kind of sad to see the Indians lose after such an awesome season. But, going back to the blog I wrote on the Yankees after the Wild Card game, I did say that their bullpen was going to be a factor, and it certainly was in this series. I didn’t see it going this way exactly, but I’m certainly not upset about it; its been great baseball. Now it is a 7 game series between the Astros and the Yankees. Not sure who I am taking yet, so I will keep you posted. Game 1 is Friday.
Over in the NLDS, the Dodgers have moved on to the NLCS. They are currently waiting for the Cubs and Nats to figure their shit out. Game 5 in the series is Thursday, and I have no idea what is going to happen. I already ruled the Nats out in the beginning of this shindig, but these guys are really hanging on. The only issue is that neither the Cubs or the Nats are hitting well. These games are low scoring, and really coming down to the pitching. The Nat’s 5-0 victory today was not as much of a blowout as one might think. The score was 1-0 for a very long time, and it wasn’t till late in the game that Michael A. Taylor got lucky and hit a grand slam, after being awful all day. But kudos to Taylor, way to be clutch when it counted.
If I really have to decide, I got the Cubs in this game. The National’s bats just aren’t reliable, they suck at keeping the count alive, and that is their biggest down fall. Game 5 starts at 8pm, so place your bets early, and any money you win donate to the site… please?
